ATL Module

ATL-03007 E1/T1 module was designed by Linkbit as a high performance platform. Its Freescale MPC8560 on-board CPU performs at 1520 MIPS (Drystone).On-board memory is DDR, scalable from 256Mb to 1Gb on-board. Four E1/T1 ports are interfaced with two Infineon quad FALC ICs. TI TMS320C6416T DSP (with dedicated 64Mb RAM) is a co-processor. Data flows through Marvell 88E6063 switch IC that supports 100Mb/s x 4 data backplane. Timing signals are embedded into an Ethernet-style backplane, so flexible timing configurations are supported. By default, ATL E1/T1 ports are timed by an on-board, +/- 2.5ppm temperature compensated oscillator. ATL module complies with PCI form factor. PCI bus is used for a general system status/control and power distribution. ATL module runs Linux OS.

Some performance benchmarks (single ATL module):

  • ATL supports 124 narrow-band MTP links (maximum number for 4 E1 ports)
  • ATL module supports generation and analysis of 124 bearer timeslots (DTMF and tone)
  • ATL module supports generation of 3000 CPS over ISUP SS7

OC-3 Module
